I was born and brought up in Mumbai and came to the United States in search of a good education and opportunities. I love technology and am constantly overwhelmed by its capabilities and rate of growth. Mathematics has been always been an integral part of whatever I have done. Right from Pythagoras Theorem to Laws of Thermodynamics, from Wave Optics to DCT Compression of Image, mathematics is in everything we do. I have thoroughly enjoyed subjects which required logical reasoning, such as Theory of Computation, Discrete Structures and Digital Signal Processing. I enjoy and admire the beauty of a simple solution to a complex problem.
Apart from technology, I have two major interests, namely cinema and cricket. I get engrossed and emotionally involved while watching either. My favorite cricketer is Rahul Dravid - 'the Dark Knight of Indian cricket',
"...not the one it deserved but the one it needed." (The Dark Knight).
He stood his ground when no one else did or could; and played in whatever role the team required him to. Easily an extraordinary cricketer and a better human being.
An easy guess from the previous statement, my favorite film is Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight". No doubt the movie is remembered for Heath Ledger's performance; but for me, what stands out is the screenplay and direction of Christopher Nolan. I love the fact that he never takes the audience for granted in any segment of the film, whether it be an extravagant action sequence or an emotional scene. All his movies have an exceptional story arch that take the audience through a remarkable journey.
